Career Overview

Over 40 years continuous involvement with engineering design and development. The last 30 years have been spent working for a major contract research and development organisation.  I have managed a number of projects, some of which were valued in excess of £1million and have a number of patents to my name.

I have gained significant experience over a wide range of projects and have a reputation for producing simple, reliable solutions to complex engineering problems. I am able to engage in all the elements of machine design and development.from specification writing to machine development and even making parts when tight time scales require it.

Married with no children, fit and healthy with a clean driving license.

Hobbies:

A keen aeromodeller since childhood currently competing successfully in national competitions with models I designed and built.

Model Engineering: I have a well equipped workshop including a vertical milling machine, 2 lathes and a pillar drill plus all the supporting equipment

Maker of acoustic string instruments and Northumbrian Smallpipes a number of which are in the hands of professional musicians.
